SBR Latex for Cement

SBR Latex for Cement and Concrete is a specially developed SBR Latex (Styrene Butadiene Rubber Latex) additive designed to increase adhesion between old and new concrete in concrete and cement-based systems, strengthen surface bonding, and improve overall structural durability.

It is used in concrete repair applications, repair mortars, screed applications, and to ensure strong bonding of newly cast concrete to existing concrete or cementitious surfaces. Thanks to SBR Latex modification, the applied surface forms a durable bond with high flexibility, improved crack resistance, enhanced protection of steel reinforcement against corrosion, and significantly increased water resistance.

When added to concrete and cement-based mortars, SBR Latex not only improves adhesion but also greatly reduces water permeability within the concrete structure, providing enhanced resistance against water and moisture. This helps prevent water-related cracking, abrasion, dusting, and surface deterioration while extending the service life of the structure.

Application Method and Dosage

For Adhesion Improvement: After cleaning the existing concrete or cement surface, the SBR Latex-based bonding agent is applied as a thin layer onto the surface. While the layer is still wet, new concrete or mortar is applied to achieve a strong concrete-to-concrete bond. Recommended consumption: 150–200 g/m².

For Waterproofing Improvement: During preparation of concrete or cement-based mortar, SBR Latex waterproofing additive is added at a ratio of 10–20% of the cement weight. A homogeneous mixture is obtained by adding an appropriate amount of water and then applied to the surface.

Industry and Application: Used in the construction sector as a concrete and mortar additive to enhance adhesion between old and new concrete and improve water impermeability.
